Hello, my brothers and sisters. As many of you know, God has laid on my heart a desire to be a source of daily encouragement to inmates (first and foremost) and an outlet for others (whether it's family members or any of my brothers and sisters in Christ) who are looking for a sure-source of spiritual encouragement, on a daily basis. Over the last 8 years, I have journaled and written devotions and sermons to be encouraging from God’s word. Many of the blessings I share are from my personal walk with Christ and a great deal of this walk has come with my service and connections to the Kairos Ministry, EMMAUS, SBC, and from being on staff at churches. All these amazing ministries and church bodies have encouraged me, not only to write a 365-day devotional study book, but to also grow more and more in the image of Christ. I've documented the lessons learned in this devotional book I started, to help others do the same. In this devotion there is praise, growth, and truth, both Biblically and morally.
This devotion is closely connected to the greatest love story of all time: Jesus. In this devotion, through correction and boldness, I make (clear) the words of conviction and repentance in His mercy and grace and lay a clear path of choices to hold firm to the truth and authenticity of God’s word and His preservation of it. The devotion is designed to introduce new believers to strive to discover God’s character, designed to challenge even the most seasoned; a devotion to get you suited in the armor of God and help you live your calling out. This devotion will also equip you to sharpen and reproof other believers in proactive, humble, and tactful ways. I have been blessed to share these devotions with many, many people over the years. From the start, they were (often) grammatically “raw”, these devotions were heartfelt, laced with sincerity and truth. In the last three years, God has brought me a brother in Christ who has taken his time over these years to help me edit and grammatically correct over 600 devotions, pick 365, and place them into the book, the “GROWTH THROUGH SCRIPTURE ~365~” series of daily devotions. Today, I'm proud to say, God connected us with a publishing company (our agent recently released from prison, as well). Like my story, this agent was saved in prison, got out of prison, went to Bible College and Emmaus, and now works for a Christian publishing company. Therefore, I just ask for prayers. I'm starting to get anxious, worried, and full of insecure feelings. I know God has brought it all this far and he will carry it the rest of the way, according to His will.
We are looking at printing 1500 copies, though this will be several thousand dollars. With the 1500 printed copies and a publishing package from the company, they will guard the book from copyright infringement, advertise it and sell it online for us (as well as in bookstores), they will plug us into other ministries, and help advise us. The cost to print each book is like $4.80, but not only do we get 1500 copies to give out with the Kairos Ministry, we also get help to sell the book and pay for more copies to distribute. I know this is a lot and some of you won't make it this far in the message, but to those of you who do: “it's not odd, it's God”. I want you to pray about helping us pay for the cost upfront. The book itself will be a source of support for copies in the future, through sales. I have my own money (and my family’s I have put into this and will continue to). My brother, Matthew (the editor) also made a huge financial donation to this project. So, if you would like to help, please message me personally at some point (or at any point God lays it on your heart). If it wasn't for God saving me with His precious sacrifice and sending me to prison to experience Kairos, going from prison to a Christian clean and sober living facility (while still serving in Kairos), and from the Christian clean and sober living facility to Bible college, only to go back into prison to serve in Kairos, I would not be here today with this 365-day devotion and this amazing opportunity to print and publish this source of encouragement to prisoners and others. So, thank you my faithful brother and sisters. God will provide.
God’s will be done on the earth as it is in Heaven.
